Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Pre-launch draft: operator identification and legal review remain release requirements. These Terms must not be treated as a completed legal review.

These Terms govern use of Pibbow (the “app” or “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

1. The service

Pibbow is an account-based family journal for recording a child’s first words, phrases, languages, notes, photos, developmental events, and milestones. It is a memory and organisation tool, not a medical, diagnostic, or speech assessment service. An account and internet connection are required for the cloud service.

2. Eligibility and responsibility

You must be an adult, legally able to agree to these Terms and authorised to add the child data you submit. Children must not create or operate accounts independently. You are responsible for your credentials, activity under your account, the accuracy of your content, and the people you invite to a family or share with. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

3. Subscription and access

Pibbow requires a subscription. A new family subscribes, or starts a free trial where the store offers one, before using the app. If a subscription ends, the family keeps access to everything it has already recorded but cannot add new words, phrases or children until it renews. Family capacity is measured in slots: each adult member, including the owner, and each child uses one slot. The base plan includes three slots. Any larger subscription tier must be available in the store and described at purchase time; a slot is not a separate one-time purchase. Features and the total billed price and period are shown before you confirm a subscription.

Prices, billing period, trial terms, and renewal details must be shown in the App Store or Google Play purchase screen before a purchase is confirmed. Store subscriptions renew and are cancelled through the relevant store account. Deleting Pibbow does not itself cancel a store subscription. Refunds are subject to the process below and applicable consumer law.

Refunds and cancellation

For Apple App Store purchases, request a refund through Apple’s refund service. Apple decides eligibility under its rules and applicable law.

For Google Play purchases, use Google Play’s refund process or contact Pibbow support. We can review the purchase and assist through the available Google Play developer process. Do not send payment-card details, passwords, or child information with a request.

A refund is not automatic and is different from cancelling renewal. Manage or cancel your subscription in the store where you bought it. Cancellation normally stops future renewal while access continues for the paid period; any refund, revocation, or legally required remedy may change that outcome. Uninstalling the app or deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription.

Mandatory consumer rights, including applicable withdrawal, conformity, and refund remedies, remain unchanged. These Terms do not impose a blanket no-refund rule or waive a right of withdrawal. Any legally required consent to immediate supply and acknowledgement must be obtained in the purchase process.

Pibbow is not yet publicly listed in either store. Landing-page store controls therefore say “Coming soon” and must not be treated as a purchase or download offer.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the words, phrases, photos, notes, and other content you submit. You give Pibbow a limited permission to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the features you choose, including showing content to family members you intentionally invite.

You must have the rights and permissions needed for content you upload. Do not upload unlawful, abusive, infringing, or unsafe material.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, attempt to access another family’s data, interfere with security or availability, automate abusive requests, send spam invitations, harass another user, or copy or redistribute the app in violation of intellectual-property law. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

6. Pibbow materials

The Pibbow name, owl, wordmark, app design, software, and original artwork belong to Pibbow or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of them. Store badges and platform marks belong to Apple and Google and may be used only under their respective guidelines.

7. Availability and changes

The service may change as it is prepared for public launch. Features explicitly described as “Coming soon” are not part of the current service. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability and may perform maintenance, change limits, or discontinue a feature. Material changes affecting paid access or these Terms will be communicated as required by law.

8. Account deletion and termination

You can delete your account after signing in again under Settings → Account → Danger zone, or request deletion through the account deletion page. Successful in-app deletion removes the account and its owned families from the active service permanently. Contributions to another owner’s family remain in that family’s journal; contact us about requests concerning those contributions. Verified requests also cover associated personal data except records that must be retained by law. See the Privacy Notice for provider records and retention limits.

We may suspend or terminate an account for serious or repeated violations, security risks, legal requirements, or harmful use. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Pibbow is provided on an “as available” basis. It does not replace advice from a paediatrician, speech and language professional, or another qualified professional. If you have concerns about a child’s development, seek appropriate professional advice.

Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer remedies or liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited. Subject to those protections, liability for ordinary negligence is limited to foreseeable losses typical of the contract arising from breach of an essential contractual duty. No exclusion applies where applicable law prohibits it. This proposed limitation requires legal review before launch.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Slovenian law, without removing mandatory consumer rights or remedies available in your country of residence. You may bring a claim before any court available under mandatory consumer law; no mandatory arbitration or exclusive Slovenian consumer venue is imposed. Contact support first if you want us to try to resolve a complaint. Operator identity, postal address, and any required consumer dispute-resolution disclosures remain launch blockers pending completion and legal review.
